rizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit Law, A.R.S. Section 43-1089 allows single and married taxpayers to re-direct their State taxes to organizations that provide scholarships and grants to students attending qualified private schools in the State of Arizona.
e Wise. Arizona law allows single taxpayers or heads of household an annual credit of up to $500. For married taxpayers that file a joint return, the credit is now up to $1,000. (If married taxpayers file separate returns, each spouse may claim 1/2 of the credit that would have been allowed on the joint return).
redit yourself with knowing that simply completing the donation form online or delivering it to APESF with your check will provide a student or students scholarships/grants that would NOT be available without YOUR help!
OTHER IMPORTANT BENEFITS
The law also allows for a carry forward of up to 5 years if the credit received is in excess of the actual State income tax due.
The public school tax credit of $400 can be taken in addition to the private school tax credit. (If your anticipated Arizona State tax liability supports taking both of the credits, we urge you to do so.)
The tax credit donation MAY be eligible for a federal deduction if the donation is given without any recommendation(s) for a specific recipient student. Please consult your tax adviser on this or any other matters that effect your tax planning.
Unlike other charitable donations, a contribution to APESF qualifies for a dollar-for-dollar tax CREDIT. An Arizona tax CREDIT (as opposed to a tax deduction) is subtracted directly from the income tax owed (or withheld) by the state of Arizona. You have the unique opportunity to support hundreds of deserving private school students in the Valley and it costs you virtually nothing! Don't wait..."Take the Credit" for private education TODAY!
