Education Choice Advocates Hope Court Will Reverse Ninth Circuit, Declare Tax Credit Program Constitutional
Washington, D.C. (May 24, 2010) -
Supporters of school choice programs that provide children with educational opportunity will once again have their day in court—in front of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Court decided today that it would hear an appeal to a Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that declared an Arizona school choice program unconstitutional.

APESF is excited to announce a few exciting changes to our program! We have introduced a new application for the 2010-2011 school year which is now available online and for print. A copy of your tax return and each child’s report card is NO LONGER REQUIRED with the new application. You have the option to submit it as supporting documentation but it will not be mandatory that you provide it.
We have also changed our timeline and ADDED A NEW DISTRIBUTION CYCLE. We will now be making scholarship distributions in February, May, August and November — 4 TIMES PER YEAR! You must complete an application every year beginning March 1 and all of the applications will go out-of-date after February 28.

The application deadline has now passed and our scholarship committee will begin to review the applications and make awards. If funds are awarded to your child, you will receive an email notification when the check is disbursed to the school. Due to the volume of applications, we anticipate the distribution to be completed by the 3rd or 4th week of March.

Don’t forget to submit your scholarship application by February 28, 2010 to be eligible for consideration in the March distribution cycle. You may complete the application online or download/print one and send it by mail.
Please note: In addition to the application, ALL families must also submit a copy of page 1 & 2 of their most recent tax return and a copy of each student applicant’s most recent report card.
